Founded in 1988 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, "Shantz Pizza Express" was dedicated to providing delicious food to the local neighborhoods. Owner and founder Bill Shancey was raised in Pittsburgh on classic Pittsburgh cuisine. After moving to Ohio, Bill decided to bring a taste of that Pittsburgh food to Dayton. Opening first as a food truck in 2015 and rebranding as "Shantz Express," Bill was able to show Daytonians how Pittsburghers eat, providing beloved Pittsburgh tropes such as fries on sandwiches and salads, pierogies smothered in butter and sour cream, and quality hand tossed pizza. In 2019 Bill opened Shantz Express' first brick and mortar location with pick up and delivery options to bring the food to you!
